Louise Dress

This is a step by step tutorial on how to make Louise Cowl Neck Dress.

UK 6-16 / EU 34-44 / US 2-12/ AU 6-16

To make this dress you’ll need bra adjusters (click) and and cut out pieces ( satin I’m using click )

Join back and front panels together using a french seam technique. Sitch sides together right side to right side.

Trim the seam allowance.

Bag out and stitch again.

Fold the hem twice and topstitch.

Join front and back facing pieces using a french seam technique.

Sitch sides together right side to right side.

Trim the seam allowance.

Bag out and stitch again.

Then, fold the facing edge twice and topstitch.

Place dress on the right side and facing on the wrong side. Insert the dress into the facing.

 and pin neckline together.

Moving on to the traps. Take one piece and fold in half.

Stitch. The width of the strap should be the same as your bra adjusters. In my case as the bra adjuster is 8mm I’m going to stitch 8mm wide strap.

Trim the seam allowance.

Bag out using a loop turner or safety pin.

Cut 4cm off the straps.

Next, we need to insert the straps to the dress.

Take long straps and insert them to the front of the dress.

Then measure 11cm from the side.

Take the 4cm  bit and put it through the bra ring and insert the adjuster to the back.

Sew the neckline all together.

Trim the seam allowance.

Bag out the neckline to the right side.

Topstitch as close to the seam as possible

Pull away the fabric to open the seam.

Moving to the straps make sure they are straight.

Then thread the end through the bra slider.

Next, thread the end through the bra ring.

Then thread the end through the bra slider again.

Use safety pin to thread the bra slider.

Thread the same direction as the first time.

This is how it should look like then.

Stitch the end of the strap to the back.

Voila!

Thanks for buying the pattern!
