TRAVEL DIARIES

CHOPOK, SLOVAKIA

“AN INVESTMENT IN TRAVEL IS AN INVESTMENT INTO YOURSELF”- MATTHEW KARSTEN

I recently went snowboarding in Slovakia. We spend there 6 days from which 4 were filled with sliding on the slopes. This was my first time snowboarding and I think I did a pretty good job and progress ( it’s actually way harder than it looks but I’m getting there).

Words can’t describe how awesome those few days were but the photos might make a better judgment. Funny how we didn’t plan most of those photos and we just photographed stuff as we were going. Mother Nature made a great job and every single corner of Slovakia was just breathtaking, not forgetting about those -14 degrees that made every single tree white- so magical!

We stayed in a cute wooden house next to the forest and a river nearby. The accommodation was one of my favourites things from our trip. I just couldn’t wait to go home and sit with a glass of wine by the fireplace. Not forgetting about the amazing food in Slovakia, some of the dishes were really similar to Polish and perhaps I loved them so much as they reminded me home.

Our destination mountain was Chopok. Great for beginners (like me) as well as for pros. I really liked how every chairlift was connected and it was super easy to move around the mountain. This was one of my favourite trips and it was my first one during winter. I feel like now I want to go snowboarding every year.

If you are still thinking of where to go skiing or snowboarding I would highly recommend you Slovakia. I hope this post was in a way helpful for you. Until next time!
