A Slow Weekend Away
A weekend away from the city was exactly what I needed. Lately, I’ve been craving more moments like this — calm, unhurried, and quiet. I truly hope to take more “slow” holidays in the future, the kind where time feels softer and you can finally hear yourself think.
We stayed in a beautiful old hotel tucked away in a very remote area. The nearest shop was a thirty-minute drive, and there was only one restaurant nearby. Each evening we’d see the same familiar faces from the hotel gathered there — smiling, chatting, and sharing stories over dinner. It made everything feel a little bit like a small community, even if only for a weekend.
The hotel itself was full of charm — an old building with history, yet carefully renovated. The rooms were decorated in soft whites and ivory tones, creating a calm and timeless atmosphere. From our window, we could see the garden, perfectly still in the morning light.
Every morning we had breakfast at the hotel, followed by coffee in the garden and long walks through the countryside. No plans, no rush, just slow moments and peaceful surroundings.
It was such a wonderful weekend, and a gentle reminder that sometimes all we really need is a bit of quiet and a change of scenery.
