“A mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions.” – Oliver Wendell Holmes
A Weekend in Warsaw
Some snaps from a lovely weekend in Warsaw. I’ve been to the city many times before, but somehow I never really took the time to explore it properly — and as it turned out, I had missed out on so much.
This time, I slowed down a little. I wandered through the Old Town, stopped for coffee, and paid attention to the details I had overlooked before — the colours of the buildings, the texture of the walls, the way light reflected on cobblestones in the afternoon.
Warsaw’s Old Town felt like a beautiful blend between Italy and Paris. The pastel facades, elegant windows, and quiet corners all tell stories of resilience and history. It’s one of those places where you can simply walk without any destination and still find beauty at every turn.
There’s a calmness there that you don’t expect in a capital city — musicians playing in the streets, the smell of warm pastries in the air, and the soft hum of conversations floating from nearby cafés.
If you ever get the chance to visit Warsaw, please start from the Old Town. It’s where the heart of the city beats, and it’s where you’ll truly understand its charm.
