A Day in Llandudno, Wales

This weekend we headed to Llandudno, a beautiful seaside town on the north coast of Wales. We’d been there before, but only for a quick stop, so this time we decided to spend the entire day exploring properly.

The weather was calm and soft — the kind of day when the sea looks like glass and time slows down a little. Llandudno feels wonderfully peaceful, with pastel houses along the promenade, a quiet pier, and a gentle breeze that carries the sound of seagulls and laughter.

We started our morning with a walk along the Victorian pier, watching people fish, sip coffee, and feed the birds. It’s one of those places where you instantly feel like you’ve stepped into another time. Afterwards, we wandered through the town’s narrow streets, filled with charming cafés and antique shops, and stopped for a slow lunch with a sea view.

Normally when we travel, we try to see as much as possible — running from one spot to another, trying not to miss a thing. But this trip was different. We both decided to put our phones away for the day and simply enjoy the moment. No checking messages, no updating stories. Just us, coffee cups in hand, asking each other our favourite kind of random questions — the ones you never get around to asking when life gets too busy.

Later in the afternoon, we climbed up to the Great Orme for the most breathtaking view of the coastline. The air was crisp, and from up there, the sea stretched endlessly in front of us. It was one of those quiet, grounding moments that makes you realise how small and beautiful the world feels at the same time.

Even though it was just a one-day trip, it became one of my favourites. Llandudno reminded me that sometimes, the simplest days — without plans, without distractions — are the ones we end up remembering the most.
