DIY Cami Wrap Maxi Dress

Hello sunshine, hello summer! Welcome back, everyone, to another DIY tutorial (these are my favourites). I made this dress as an option for a wedding guest or any other special occasion. I can easily imagine a maid of honour wearing this rose gold maxi dress while holding a bouquet of cream roses — so beautiful! For this design, I used a gorgeous lightweight scuba fabric in a soft rose gold shade and finished it off with delicate white floral lace details.

How to make a cami wrap maxi dress — a complete step-by-step guide

  1. Cut out all the needed pieces according to your measurements and fabric choice. Begin by joining the two front bust panels together, then attach them to the back panel to create the top part of the dress. Once that’s done, move on to the skirt — stitch the two front skirt panels to the back panel and finish the seams with an overlocker for a neat, professional look.
  2. Next, overlock the hem of the skirt and topstitch it with a single needle stitch. Join the top and skirt together at the waistline and add the elastic waistband to bring everything into shape.
  3. Finally, attach the delicate cami straps and sew a strip of floral lace across the waist. I hand-sewed my lace for a softer finish, but you can also use your machine if you prefer. Once it’s done, give your dress a final press — and enjoy your new handmade cami wrap maxi dress.

      Hi,

Unfortunately, I don’t sell a pattern for this dress 🙂
